Description
Smooth, cool Jazz guitar with a uniquely energetic and soulful style, there's an exuberant creativity and abandonment to the moment in Derry-born guitarist Tommy Halferty. Since the late 70s, Halferty has been an irrepressible voice, always lyrical and animated, and a formative influence for many Irish jazz musicians. The trio will perform a programme of Halferty originals and re-workings of jazz standards. This integrated ensemble, Tommy Halferty Guitar, Dave Redmond Bass, Kevin Brady Drums, currently one of the most successful groups in Ireland, promise a mix of original compositions penned by Halferty and new arrangements of jazz standards.
'Tommy Halferty's superb album with Mike Nielsen is perhaps the finest Irish jazz recording ever made.' The Sunday Tribune
